Video Games etc review

These days, few game stores are independent, fortunately a few of them exist in Chicago & the surrounding area. My favorite? Video Games etc, it's address is 4353 N Harlem Ave, Norridge, IL. I think is Norridge is really close to Chicago. Anyways, this store has been around since probably 2003-2005. I really really like this store. Why? You'll find out.

The 1st reason why I like that place & probably the reason I go there is their selection of games. Wow, everything from Magnavox Odyssey to possibly the Xbox 360 & the totally forgotten like the Atari Jaguar & the Neo Geo Pocket Color. They even have Neo Geo games in there. Last time I went to that store, I found for the Neo Geo; Fatal Fury 3, King of Fighters '97, Samurai Spirits, Blue's Journey, & a couple others. They have some JPN-only games like Final Fantasy V for example on the Super Famicom & Street Fighter 2 Championship edition on the PC-Engine.

The 2nd reason why I like Videogames etc is the internet cafe in the back. I assume it gets the attention of a lot of PC gamers in the area. Unfortunatly, you're bound to hear tons of trash talk.

Also, they have old videogame magazines & code books for sale. Pretty cool.


There're some cons as well. The store is kinda far from where I live so I don't go
there very often, but when I do, I take my sweet time to get a good look at the store. Also, I don't really like how the owner doesn't have an online store. I can't find anything else wrong with the store though.

In conclusion, an almost perfect store. If you live in Norridge or near the area, I suggest you check it out. Next time I go to that store, I think I'll get a 3DO & some of it's awesome games.
