SNK Arcade Classics review

I haven't written in a while, I know. I feel like making a new review now.

So earlier this weekend, I decided to go to my local library to see what shit they have. I found out to my surprise that you can now check out video games at the library. (the library I go to is Elk Grove Public Library) So I looked around the section for a little bit & I found SNK Arcade Classics vol.1 for the Wii. I decided to check out the game & soon after that, I walking home with excitement. Turns out the compilation isn't that great. SNK Arcade Classics has about 16 games & 1 of them must be unlocked. Let's see how good are some of the games on the disk, shall we?

Samurai Shodown (1993)- I already have it on Samurai Shodown Anthology. It's quite good obviously. The SNK Arcade classics version is censored to add injury to insult.

Fatal Fury (1991)- The controls are quite sloppy & the AI is quite ruthless. You can only pick as 1 of 3 characters.

Art of Fighting (1992)- Like Fatal Fury, the controls ain't so good. The AI is also kinda ruthless too.

King of Fighters '94 (1994)- I already have it on KOF Collection: The Orochi Saga for the Wii.

Shock Troopers (1997)- It's a really fun top-down run n gun similar to Metal Slug. You can either play as one character or have a team of 3. 8 playable characters in total.

Magician Lord (1990)- It looks so fun, yet your character moves so slow. The bad guy who talks smack at you at the end of every stage before you fight the boss at that stage has a wierd reverb effect in his voice on the SNK Arcade Classics version. He didn't have the reverb effect in his voice in the Neo Geo MVS, AES & the Neo Geo CD versions though.

Neo Turf Masters (1996)- Pretty much a golf game. With awesome music & made by Nazca, the company that has also worked on Metal Slug 1.

Metal Slug (1996)- Obviously very fun. You're pretty much a hermit in the gaming world if you don't know Metal Slug.

Burning Fight (1991)- A lame final fight ripoff, that's all you need to know.

Last Resort (1992)- It's ok I guess. I haven't given it full judgement yet.

Well, that's all the games that I played for now. The full list of games on the compilation is below:

Metal Slug
Fatal Fury
Art of Fighting
King of Fighters '94
King of the Monsters
Samurai Shodown
Sengoku
Shock Troopers
Top Hunter
World Heroes (Must be unlocked)
Super Sidekicks 3 (IT's a soccer game)
Neo Turf Masters
Last Resort
Burning Fight
Magician Lord
Baseball Stars 2

I'll post YouTube videos of the games on the next blog entry.
